The "Papa" of the family. A native Colombian, Gus came to the United States when he was six months old. After serving in the Army, Gus became a Paramedic. He left his career to fulfill his lifelong dream of traveling the country and being with his family full time. Gus enjoys building projects with Shirley, playing video games, board games, airsoft wars with the boys and having ice cream with Mia. He likes to mow the lawn in warm winter Florida days on his John Deere Riding Mower!

Shirley is "little woman" to Gus and "mama" to the Solis children. She was born in Ecuador and migrated to the United States when she turned nine years old. Choosing the career of wife and mom, instead of business woman, Shirley started homeschooling eight years ago. Shirley enjoys drinking tea, making friends and reviewing new books. She is also fond of learning about other cultures and their food!

Gustavo, thirteen years old, is a compassionate child who loves to relate to people through stories. He enjoys nestling in his bed while listening to audio books of all kinds. BigGuy, as we call him, also loves learning about animals and catching snakes. He has excellent comprehension and talented discernment to judge character.

Nicolas, eleven years old, is a resourceful young man who enjoys working with his hands. He builds "marshmallow guns" for his family business and is very good at managing his money. His favorite subjectd are writing and grammar. He has recently written a book titled BLESSED TIMES about his family's adventures while traveling around the country for six months. Nick enjoys reading adventure stories for boys.

With his fun and positive personality, Alexis, ten years old, has continued to develop his own toy business. This summer he purchased Forty-Five Dollars worth of toys and sold them for $150.00, making a profit in just 2 months. Hence, he has reinvested the profit and purchased more inventory. He enjoys relating to people and can sell "ice to an Eskimo."

Mia, five years old, is our little princess. Having grown up around books, she loves being read to. Her favorite books are JUST LIKE MAMA, THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD, SNIPP, SNAPP, SNURR AND THE RED SHOES, FIVE CHINESE BROTHERS and MY MOMMA LIKES TO SAY. She enjoys playing and reading with the BUSY BIBLE. Mia is a determined little girl, a trait which she demonstrated at only 2 years old when she learned to screw the covers of our shelves in the booth…beware she already handles power tools!

Lucas, 18 months old, is the newest blessing to our family. He is the most peaceful baby we've ever had, and always full of soft smiles. Born "on the road," Lucas traveled to the Grand Canyon at two weeks old and Yosemite National Park at three weeks. He enjoys putting EVERYTHING in his mouth!
He likes books so much, he eats them!
