| Category Description : Ralph Moody's books have been recommended to us over the years many times, and we have finally gotten around to reading them! (We were hesitant because we were told they had some curse words in them. Well, folks, they do have a few damns and hells, (for this reason we recommend you read-aloud the series and ommit the words) but other than that, the books are incredible! These few words are used in the context of turn of the century farmers and cowboys, and can be easily edited while reading aloud.) The series is autobiographical, following Ralph into his adult life.
We were hooked with the first book by the special relationship Ralph had with his father. They had a deep father-son relationship as well as one of trust, friendship, and partnership, that is worthy of imitation. Mr. Moody had an extraordinary ability to explain difficult areas of life in concise, simple terms. His response to Ralph's sneaking chocolate from his mother's kitchen stands out vividly in my mind. Working hard and working together are themes of the books, as well as close family relationships.
The books range from about 250 to 350 pages. Highly recommended. Save 10% if you order the whole series! |
